The 31st Annual Friends Book Sale will begin on this day with a Members Only preview sale. Thursday, June 17 is a preview sale open to current members of the Friends of the Library from 5PM to 8PM. Not a member? Feel free to purchase a membership at the door that evening. The rest of the book sale dates will be open to the public at no charge.

  1. Stories in the Garden

    Adamson-Spalding Storybook Garden

    As a new activity this summer, families are invited out to the Adamson-Spalding Storybook Gardens for regular Stories in the Park sessions. Join your South Branch Library staff as we share some of the greatest stories and activities ever on the grassy knoll next to the stage. Sessions will be hosted on the dates provided, weather permitting. Don’t forget to bring something to sit on and come out and enjoy. After the program, stick around and look at the sculptures in the storybook garden if you haven’t seen them already.

Get 1-on-1 help through the Maker Meetup program where staff will assist you based on your needs. We may not know how to do it all, but we’ll do our best to assist you. Join us for Tech Time where the library’s tech gurus will be on hand to assist you with troubleshooting your technology issues. We may not have all the answers, but we’ll do our best to answer all your questions. Each guest will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 25 minutes if people are waiting. For help that might take longer, you may also see about signing up for a 1-on-1 session at a different time so we may accommodate you better.

    Don’t miss the return of the popular Open Mic Night series after a brief hiatus. Designed for all ages, this is the time where you can show off your talents and skills for a captivated audience. Whether you sing or dance, recite poetry or tell jokes, all are welcome to sign up for a spot to show your skills. Registration is required to attend and we limit each session to 11 performers each performing for up to 5 minutes. If there’s time left at the end of the program, we’ll take walk-ins as well.
