If it’s time for you to sign-up for Medicare, and you don’t know where to begin, be sure to register and attend a free Medicare Class at your Abilene Public Library. Multiple sessions will be hosted each month and led by specialists Jennifer Walter. Each session will run up to 1-hour long and designed with the goal of providing seniors with the tools needed to be able to make the right decisions going into Medicare. From understanding the parts of Medicare to prescription drug plans, learning how to enroll to reviewing health plans, you’ll be sure to get all the answers you need. Don’t miss out on some movie fun for all ages at your Mockingbird Branch Library. Each session will feature a new movie to come watch and you’re encouraged to bring your own food and drinks to the program as long as they remain in the activity room. The featured film for this session will be 2016’s “The Secret Life of Pets” with the voices of Kevin Hart & Albert Brooks. In this film, the quiet life of a terrier named Max is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. This film is rated PG for action and some rude humor and has a run time of 1 hour and 27 minutes.

Everyone’s invited to come and explore the world around you through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math with your South Branch Library. At this session, we’ve planned a different activity for youth to get involved in in which we’ll be showing you how to make a Solar Oven. Learn how to use the power of the sun to cook up some tasty treats to enjoy. We’ll supply all the materials and instructions needed to complete the projects, plus, you can stick around afterwards to enjoy your tasty treats.
