Summer Kid's World

Join your South Branch for a limited summer series of programs hosted inside the Mall of Abilene in the large courtyard. Summer Kid’s World will be a weekly event hosted each Tuesday afternoon in July, and each program will feature a different guest. Your South Branch Library will be the featured guest at this session, and we’ll offer a super fun activity for kids and families to enjoy for free. All materials will be provided so we’ll see y’all at the mall this summer!

Cricut Design Space Basics

If you wish to further your knowledge and skills for the Cricut machine, which is the most popular equipment we offer for use at our makerspace, then this is the class for you. We will cover how to use the Cricut Design Space and the basics of using this versatile piece of crafting equipment. Intermediate computer skills are required and feel free to register to participate in this class online at https://bit.ly/3mVyILc. Read to a Dog Day

School-age youth won’t want to miss out on the first of several Read to a Dog Day sessions being hosted at your library system during the Summer Reading Club. At this first session, we’ll be inviting in the friendliest and fluffiest listeners from Abilene Therapy Dogs to come to the library and listen to great stories told to them by youth. It’s a great literacy event for kids to practice their reading skills this summer, and to do so to patient and polite listeners that won’t worry if you make a mistake. Anyone who wants to read will have the opportunity, but we do ask that you leave your own four-legged friends at home.
