Four new splash pads at various parks throughout the City make up proposition seven of the Bond Projects. Two splash pads opened in 2016: at Scarborough Park in August and at Stevenson Park in September. Each of these 3,000-square-foot aquatic playgrounds has more than 20 interactive spray features, shaded seating areas and a seat wall for parents, plus restrooms. Ninety percent of the water at the splash pads is recaptured, treated and recirculated. The final two splash pads opened in 2018: Redbud Park and Sears Park. Each of these also feature water slides, an interactive children's play area, and shaded seating areas.
